Vero’s Hidden Gem,
Takes Center Stage
Mission: to educate, inspire and empower all people to be active stewards of the environment and their own well-being.
The Environmental Learning Center (ELC) exists to educate and empower all people to become active stewards of the environment and their own wellbeing. Rooted in hands-on learning and meaningful connection to nature, the ELC creates experiences that inspire curiosity, responsibility, and action.
Through immersive programs, community engagement, and environmental leadership, it nurtures a deeper understanding of our ecosystems while encouraging individuals to care not only for the world around them, but for their personal health and balance within it.
Activities On and By the Water
The ELC offers weekly and monthly wellness activities, including Pilates, Yoga, Chair Yoga, Tai Chi, SUP Yoga, Sound Baths, and Walking Meditation.
Enjoy daily pontoon boat eco-tours, kayak and canoe rentals, and weekly guided kayak excursions — including Sunrise, Sunset, and Full Moon tours.
The ELC believes every child deserves a connection with nature.

You Can Make a Difference!
Volunteers are crucial to what we do at the ELC!
Opportunities Include: Assisting with education programs, greeting visitors, canoeing & boating, touch tank, special events, & much more!
The ELC EcoAction Citizen Science Partners Program is a volunteer-driven initiative focused on conservation, environmental education, and citizen science. Through hands-on activities like building oyster mats, shoreline cleanups, native plant workshops, and data collection, participants help protect the Indian River Lagoon and surrounding ecosystems.
