A Mallorca Wedding Story
There are places around the world where everything slows down in the most beautiful way. The light feels softer, the air carries history, and somehow time stretches just enough for you to fully experience it. Mallorca is one of those places. And for Gracee and Ryan, it became the place where everything they had been quietly building turned into something lasting.
Their story didn’t start with a big moment. It began simply.
They met through mutual friends at a Mets spring training game. It was natural from the start—an easy, genuine connection. The kind of introduction that doesn’t feel forced or overthought. Ryan held the seat and the door for Gracee, small gestures that said a lot without needing to. She noticed. Right away, she sensed the difference.
That first meeting quickly turned into something more. Their first date didn’t feel like just one night; it felt like the start of something that kept going. They ended up spending nearly every day together after that, not because they planned it, but because it just felt right.
There was an instant connection. Gracee remembers thinking Ryan was handsome, genuine, and effortlessly funny. Ryan was attracted to her energy and the natural flow between them. But what made it deeper was how in sync they were. They shared the same love for movement, family, and exploring the outdoors. Golfing, surfing, snowboarding, boating, traveling—always seeking the next adventure, place, or memory.
And yet, what defined them most wasn’t the big moments.
It was the quiet ones.
Nights at home spent ordering takeout, watching movies, laughing, and eventually falling asleep with their French Bulldog, Zeus, close by. It was during those simple, everyday moments that everything became clear. Life felt better together—fuller and more alive—not because of anything extraordinary, but because it all felt so natural.
That’s how they knew.
A Moment Meant for Two
On November 12, 2023, during Gracee’s 30th birthday trip to Cabo San Lucas, Ryan made a moment that captured everything about their relationship.
It wasn’t complex. It was deliberate.
They went for a walk on the beach, her favorite place. What she didn’t know was that Ryan had quietly asked everyone else to stay back. He remembered something she had once said—that she wanted a proposal to be just the two of them, somewhere by the water.
The ocean stretched out before them—a view that makes everything else fade away.
He suggested they go for a swim, then hesitated and playfully said the water looked too rough. It was just enough to change the moment. Just enough to catch her off guard.
Then he shared all the things he loved about her.
And he got down on one knee in the sand.
It was simple. Honest. Emotional.
When they walked back, tears came first, then celebration. The people they love most were waiting for them, turning that quiet moment into something shared.
The ocean had always been a part of their story. Gracee grew up in Vero Beach, while Ryan spent his summers in Ortley Beach. The water wasn’t just a backdrop; it was something that shaped both of them long before they met.
It felt natural that it would shape this moment too.
A wedding built on travel and presence, set in a place you feel right away. Not just a ceremony, but a shared exploration of something surreal.
Finding the Place
They always knew they wanted their wedding to feel like an experience, not just a single day.
Travel had been a significant part of their relationship, and they wanted to create something that reflected that. Watching Ryan’s brother get married in Ischia made it even more evident. There was something special about bringing people together in a place that allowed them to slow down, explore, and truly be present.
Mallorca was that special place.
The first time they visited, it almost felt surreal. The island had everything: long coastlines, hidden coves with clear turquoise water, rugged mountains, and towns steeped in history. Palma had its own vibrant energy, while the rest of the island felt laid-back and vast.
Every part of it felt layered and alive.
Then they saw Bendinat Castle.
Some places don’t need explanation. You feel it right away. The castle, the gardens, the way everything opened toward the sea, it felt both intimate and expansive at the same time. They could see their entire day unfolding there without having to force it.
There was also something deeper about it. The history, the sense that so many lives and moments had passed through that space before them. It didn’t feel like just a venue. It felt like stepping into something timeless.
They didn’t overanalyze it.
They knew that it was the place.
A Weekend, Not Just a Wedding
From the start, Gracee and Ryan wanted the celebration to be more than just a single day. With many guests traveling from throughout the country and even from London, it was important that the experience felt immersive.
It became a full weekend.
On the first day, we greeted everyone at the Lobster Club in Puerto Portals. The atmosphere was relaxed yet sophisticated, with views of the Mediterranean, featuring music, movement, and an energetic vibe that set the tone for what was ahead.
The next day shifted into something more historic and intimate. A Catholic ceremony at Iglesia de Santa Eulàlia in Palma, followed by an evening that moved through the city itself. Bar Ábaco, with its candlelight, overflowing fruit displays, and old-world atmosphere, felt like stepping into another time. Dinner at Merchants Palma brought everyone back together in a more grounded, garden setting.
By the time the wedding day arrived, everything had already started to feel connected.
A celebration of two worlds: where the relaxed vibration of a coastal club meets the historic intimacy of a city steeped in time.
Where the Sea Meets Forever
The morning started at The St. Regis Mardavall, overlooking the coast. Gracee and Ryan prepared separately before being driven to the castle in Rolls Royces, each arriving from their own quiet moments to the same place.
At Bendinat, the day unfolded in layers.
Guests were greeted with champagne and local cuisine, strolling through the first tier of the gardens before heading to the ceremony. Pools, fountains, the sea in the distance, and the mountains beyond all created a setting that felt almost surreal.
Time slowed when they saw each other.
They shared private vows before the ceremony, then walked into that moment surrounded by everyone they love. Music from a live quartet floated through the space, enhancing an already deeply emotional atmosphere.
From there, the evening continued to build.
Cocktails on the second tier included Dom Pérignon, cava, espresso martinis, and small, beautifully crafted bites. Then, dinner took place above, beneath trees with chandeliers hanging overhead, creating a setting that felt both grand and intimate.
A flamenco performance brought movement and energy. A live vocalist sang romantic standards, offering a quiet nod to their Italian roots. Speeches followed, filled with emotion—the kind that lingers long after the words are spoken.
They cut a Mallorcan almond cake. They sabered a bottle of cava. And just as the evening shifted, a light drizzle passed through, almost like a blessing, gone as quickly as it came.
What followed was something entirely different.
Inside the castle, the night changed entirely. A DJ from Ibiza, live percussion, saxophone, and violin created a vibrant, electric atmosphere. The space transformed into a nightclub, bustling with movement, laughter, and energy that lasted until early morning.
The Final Day
The weekend ended at Mhares Sea Club, nestled into the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean.
It was laid-back, sunny, and relaxed. Guests moved between the water, music, and conversation, fully present in a way that only happens when people feel both cared for and totally at ease.
Gracee once jumped into the sea, something she has always loved. Surrounded by friends and family, it became one of those moments that felt simple but meaningful in a way that stays with you.
Looking Back
When guests arrived in Mallorca, they immediately felt it. The island’s beauty, Palma’s charm, and the thoughtful design that didn’t feel forced all contributed. It didn’t seem like just a wedding; it felt personal, intentional, and different.
And that was always the goal.
For Gracee and Ryan, the weekend was never about perfection. It was about creating something that reflected who they are — a balance of elegance and ease, energy and intimacy, experience and emotion.
Asked to describe it in a single sentence, it becomes simple.
A celebration where love, family, and place harmoniously united, making it feel both effortless and unforgettable.
And somewhere among the gardens, the music, and the sea, it became clear.
Some places don’t simply hold a moment. They are the beginning.
